Adam Berdickevsky – Tennis

This former professional soccer player who lost his leg in a boating accident some 6 years ago in Thailand, has now become one of Israel’s most prominent wheelchair tennis stars. Adam, married to Hila and father of two, lost his leg after jumping in the water to rescue his then-girlfriend Hila following a boating accident in which many others lost their lives or were left with severe injuries.

Adam is the current Israeli top-ranked wheelchair tennis player, he is the Israeli National Champion and a member of the Israeli team to the Wheelchair Tennis World Cup. He took part in the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games and is a member of the Israeli Paralympic Team to the Tokyo Games.

Adam lives in Nir-Itzhak, on the border of the Gaza strip, and travels the 2.5 hour ride to the ISCD to practice, and for his fitness and physical conditioning program.

Adam holds an engineering degree from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.
